Brian S. Karpe is an attorney with the law firm of Nirenstein, Horowitz & Associates, P.C. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine at Orono. He then earned his law degree from Drake University, Des Moines, IA. Mr. Karpe furthered his legal education by obtaining a post-doctorate degree in estate planning and elder law from Western New England School of Law.
Mr. Karpe is licensed to practice law before the courts of the States of Connecticut and Colorado, the U.S. District Court for Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for Colorado, the United States Supreme Court, and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the Connecticut and Hartford County Bar Associations as well as the Estate and Probate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. In addition, he is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and Planned Lifetime Assistance Network of Connecticut. Brian has been named a “Super Lawyers Honoree.” He was selected for Super Lawyers in 2025 and 2026. No more than 5% of CT attorneys are named to the Super Lawyers Honoree List.
Mr. Karpe provides legal services in trust and estate planning to his clients. Mr. Karpe also has extensive litigation experience in both Connecticut and Colorado. Mr. Karpe is currently an adjunct professor of probate and elder law at the University of Hartford paralegal degree program and a former adjunct professor at Goodwin University teaching medical ethics law.
